When it comes to choosing an iPad, there is a wide range of options. While the model of iPad is really down to personal preference, it is important to be aware of compatibility with Apple's latest iPadOS (iOS 16) for longer term benefit.
iPadOS 16 is compatible with the iPad (5th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), and all iPad Pro models, and was released in October 2022.
The Performa Sports iPad app will work with iOS 12 and above, but iPads that are compatible with the latest iPadOS (iOS 16) offer a number of operating and feature benefits as well as a longer shelf life for the device itself.
Checklist for choosing an Apple iPad:
iOS (Apple’s mobile operating system) - iOS 12 as a minimum, but compatibility with iOS 16 is recommended
Generation - older models of iPad will be limited by the level of iOS (operating system) they can run. Meaning older devices will run slower and may under perform
Storage - more local storage means you can carry more game videos on the iPad
Connectivity - Wifi comes as standard and Cellular is not required
Screen Size - the 9.7-inch or 10.2-inch screen display sizes are ideal but the larger iPad Pro or smaller iPad Mini displays also work fine
